The city most known for a multitude of bicycles used to be Beijing – but as they are getting much fewer there since the 1980’s, my guess is that Amsterdam has taken over the lead.
Or, do you have another suggestion?

Amsterdam is one of our favourite cities to amble around. not sure I would ever try cycle there 🙂

The capital of bicycles is and has always been Amsterdam for us and most Dutch cities like Utrecht, Leiden and Den Haag.

I would guess so – but Beijing in the 80’s was really something like swarming bees in the streets. And impossible to cross without ”fear for your life”!
It is a nice flat place to ride bikes 🙂

there is more bicycles than inhabitants in The Netherlands, and we have over 40K bicycle lanes 😉

Until the mid seventies, everyone used the bicycle to go to school, work, into town etc. And not electric!
So did we up here. All my school years I was biking.
People now complain that the streets are too dangerous for kids to bike to school. Probably because the parents drop them off by car?
