Athens, Corfu, Mykonos and Montenegro – everywhere in the arhipelago.. Kotor is the real cat paradise and there are many legends about why they revere cats so much. Some years ago when we were there, one popular story was that the city once had been invaded by rats and the incoming ships let out their cats to clear the streets. People still say that the cats saved their city.

They were quite well taken care of. Food provided and vets checking up on them. Big smiles from the tourists as well!
A lovely kitty post …
Well, that is a LOT of felines!
Zoom now!!!?
oh no, I’m lo sing the plot today
A post after my own heart, as a cat lover! I remember hearing that story in Kotor and I had a wonderful time making a fuss of several of the town’s cats 😻
Oh, yes, stopping everywhere to pat and admire and photograph. Didn’t know you were a cat lover!
Both my husband Chris and I love cats – we don’t have one as we feel it would be unfair, travelling as much as we do, but we love to encounter them when we’re out and about and always stop to make a fuss of those that will let us!
😊
Cats and Greece seem to go together. And yes, even the ones without permanent homes seem to have a choice of ‘cat hotels’ and snack bars!
They do! This time we saw a woman taking care of some kittens in a park. They got a bed, food and drink. Feels good to watch them being nursed.
I guess they don’t have a mice or rat problem!
No, they found a way to finish that off!
🙂 Pretty cute way. Hopefully there don’t end up being too many feral cats, which would also be a problem.
True. But I think so far so good!
