Ese’s weekly Shoot & Quote Challenge: Intangible

Ese gave us another beautiful task this week – Intangible. The best things in our lives are indeed intangible, love, for example. Or, a morning rainbow over my old appletree.

Regnbåge 002

The true harvest of my life is intangible – a little star dust caught, a portion of the rainbow I have clutched.

Ese’s Weekly Shoot & Quote Challenge: Obsession

Listening to Eric Clapton, and Tears In Heaven, you realize that his explanation is well chosen: An obsession is where something will not leave your mind. Ese’s challenge reveals  that I have many obsessions: My children, my dogs, orchids, my work, photography… I read somewhere that to cure one obsession – get another. But mine seldom go away…they pile up. I’m convinced that they are all of the same origin.

I believe that all my work explores the human desire or obsession for utopias, and the structure of all my works is the search for utopias lost and rediscovered.

Camera lies all the time. It’s all it does is lie, because when you choose this moment instead of this moment, when you…the moment you’ve made a choice, you’re lying about something larger. ”Lying” is an ugly word. I don’t mean lying. But any artist picks and chooses what they want to paint or write about or say. Photographers are the same.

Ese’s Weekly Shoot & Quote Challenge: Scent

Certain scents bring back old memories like nothing else can do.  Memories from childhood and younger days. Sometimes a scent brings tears to my eyes and other times a smile on my face…For this challenge I chose a quote from the world of animals. Maybe it seems like a joke to some of you, but I have grown up with animals and I just might agree with Mr Stewart.  What do you think?

Ese’s Weekly Shoot & Quote Challenge: Desire

I know, I know…I have used this picture before…but – those greedy fingers are irresistable!

London 2013 089

A desire presupposes the possibility of action to achieve it; action presupposes a goal which is worth achieving.

A man in a bookstore buys a book on loneliness and every woman in the store hits on him. A woman buys a book on loneliness and the store clears out.
