When I was young, brown was my favourite colour. I wore earth coloured boots, jeans and sweater and a light brown leather jacket. But, over the years, I have started to wear more colourful clothes – at least during summer.
The colour brown is all around us. It’s the colour of earth, where we come from, where we live, from where we get our food and in which we will end up in due time.
I still love this colour and all its nuances and shades. I know that many people don’t like it, maybe even hate it…please don’t! The brown earth is a part of us all. It belongs to us and we belong to it.

Such beautiful photos Leya!
I’m glad you like them!
Great brown shots! As in ‘Brown is beautiful’ (made that one up, but it fits!)
Go for PR! This sounds great! Thank you for commenting.
😀 😀
I love brown – when I was young I had a ‘bitter-chocolate’ skirt and coat (made from the softest velvety leather – and I still long for them!!!! I loooooove your dog! Carina
Oh, Carina…I long for my leather jacket too…soft and cool – and the scent! The smell of leather is so good.
I will tell my darling that you adore him…it will make his tail wag and he will smile! (He does smile…) Thank you for a lovely comment!
Wonderful examples of the color brown – they are all so pretty!
Thank you!
Brown is one of my favorite color for the winter season .. love it in combination with navy and … the brunt colors of autumn. What a fantastic gallery …. You have nailed the challenge perfectly and my pick is the bottom photo.
So you like brown too? That’s great!
Yes, I’m not much for black .. but sometimes there is no browns around. Love all shades of grey too.
Me too. I know you look fabulous in grey.
Brown is such a warm colour, although it doesn’t really suit me to wear it. Love your brown pics, especially dear Mille. 🙂
I’ll tell him. He’s such a good listener and understands everything. He knows more than 100 words!
I’m very impressed. 🙂
Yes brown is beautiful you have depicted it so well
Thank you so much, pommepal!
Love the different shades of brown revealed in your as beautiful photos and that serene feeling of autumn there, too.
Thank you so much – yes, autum indeed.
Lovely theme, lovely photographs! 🙂
Thank you, Mike. This was a theme that made me think …and those are always good themes. I’m glad you liked the photos chosen!
… suddenly find myself falling in love with Brown …
He, he…I hope you can cope with it…
You are right. I haven’t given enough thought to brown; but it is a lovely colour, and I wear it in preference to black these days. Do your dogs find truffles?
They dig. Gotland – our biggest island – has got truffles. I would have liked to go there and teach them, but this never seems to happen…They can be taught to find other edible mushrooms, and many people use them for that task. Sadly enough this is no tradition in our family. I didn’t grow up with it and neither did my husband. But eating them!
I have not seen truffle dogs before so I was curious. They are good company so that is more important than truffles!
I love all your browns. I also have to force myself, when starting a new quilt to get away from all the brown colors!
He, he…yes. I read from many entries that people may not be fond of the colour but find out that they have got quite some of it in their own back yard…
Absolutely fabolous brown captures, I love them!
Thank you, Dina! Brown doesn’t have to be boring! Have a great Sunday!
Wonderful brown selections! Brown is well said here.
Glad you liked them! Brown with accent colours is very beautiful I think. I remember the 70’s when I had curtains in chocolate brown with orange flowers…
Stunning brown shots, and I love the words to go along with them. The beautiful brown earth seen in all her glory through your lens, and of course the utterly beautiful Mille. He looks like chocolate in that photo he’s so yummy 🙂
Seonaid, he is a gem, soon to turn 12 but still living up to his kennel name: Ferrari!
Is that your dog? He looks like a fine fun fellow. Wonderful fall and earth tone photos.
Thank you, Lynne. Yes, he’s one of my darlings.
One of … you have more doggie darlings? What breed is he? Our star is a black lab mix who wants to be brown – I should have posted photos of him 😉
Please do! Oh, my other guy is brown and white and they are both lagotto romagnolos – truffle dogs. A quick view could be found on my front page…they have got a page each there…Mille and Totti. Looking forward to your photos!

Adorable! Those eyes and that nose says everything!
Jag gillar brunt … Och jag gillar jorden, naturen och skogen … Med allt vad det innebär av olika färgnyanser … Och av dina bilder gillar jag Mille mest av alla 🙂 … // Maria 🙂
…trodde väl det!
your brown palette is fabulous! I adore those sensitive macros, and the marvellous landscape, but that dear doggie is my favourite 🙂
You’re so sweet…I’ll tell him. But he will get awfully proud and hopeless…
