Lens-Artists Challenge #263 – Faces in a Crowd

John asks for faces in a crowd – not too easily done for a shy person like me. But, there are many alternatives for us too!

John points out that we might include examples from nature photography, pets, street photography, headshots, portraiture, fashion, sports, or wedding photography. And more.

To my surprise I found both old and new ones for this post. Here we go:

On Emma’s high school graduation day we finally spotted each other in the crowd!

Stockholm – at the market hall I spotted a happy young man running around with his sea creatures…

Jousting always gathers crowds of spectators, handsome horses and handsome men.

Good looking male lions…

Art… with legs, in Vilnius.

Mural art in Lodz, Poland.

Art in China – theatre and music along the Yangtse river.

Flower faces in Lund.

Animal faces – my Totti.

Strays in Thimpu, just outside our hotel. Very sweet and well behaved.

Lovely Bhutanese faces from the street, a famous traffic conductor and a family on pilgrimage.

– On their way to Tiger’s Nest.

Hungarian dolls in Budapest – faces in a crowd!

Your challenge this week is to share images featuring faces, in a crowd or standing alone, human or animal. Selfies are approved. We are looking forward to seeing your take on “Faces in the Crowd”. Don’t forget to link to John’s original post and be sure to tag your post with Lens-Artists.

Sincere thanks to Amy for her challenge last week, “Frame your Photos.” Next week, Sofia will be our host. If you’d like to participate but aren’t sure how to get started, click here.

  1. What a lovely collection of faces Leya! My favorite here is undoubtedly your first image of Emma. What joy she conveys with her happy and spontaneous facial expression!! I also love your photo of the people on their way to Tiger’s Nest. And of course, your lovey Totti❣️❣️

  2. Wow, you have lots of great faces here! I love the opening shot, the seafood seller, the two from Bhutan and the Chinese singers the best, and your Totti is super cute 🙂

  3. GREAT photos. LOVE Emma’s surprise, et al, et al. Totti is special, love different cultures all over. At first I didn’t realize the reclining metal head was that. I thought it was a bug! Oh well. Great post.

  4. Dear Ann-Christine
you made Siri 🙂 and 🙂 Selma laugh out loud with your last picture. It’s so kitschy that’s arty again. Great idea to present these dolls. And our Bookfayries love these flower faces in Lund.
An interesting collection you are presenting here. Thanks for sharing

  5. Great interpretation for this challenge. I loved all your faces: human, animal and floral. Totti is so cute and your opening image of graduation day was amazing. What joy and pride!

  6. As always you responded beautifully Ann-Christine. I think this one was a challenge for most of us. I know very few photographers who enjoy capturing people unless in a foreign country where they understand your interest! I loved your international entries especially

  7. Oh…sweet Totti!

I loved you variety of photos this week, AC. Happiness in the graduation photo. Concentration in the traffic conductor’s face. Love that one. But to think…the family on their way to Tigers Nest all have dresses on is fantastic.

  8. Ann-Christine, I so adore your faces in a crowd for this week. Glad to see Totti in the mix. I thought about dahlias for faces, I’m so glad you posted them. Beautiful photos 😀
