There is an exhibition at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam documenting the history of photography in the last century.
”The 20th Century is the age of photography,” says Mattie Boom, curator of photography at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. “More than painting or sculpture, it is the century’s most influential art form by far. When the first Kodak camera was launched in 1888, it sold around 5,000 units. By the 1960s, Kodak was selling 70 million Instamatic cameras. So photography in the 20th Century was huge. And today we are drowning in an ocean of images.”

I thought this quote might be the intro to my message – I’m entering a challenge of producing 365 photos during 2015. WordPress helps many of us by delivering inspirational challenges every week – now I will try one organized in Sweden as well. (At least I will try – I’m not giving up the challenges I already do every week!)
So, in my header there is a list of themes I must follow (Temalista 365 foton)…starting in January. I’m looking forward to participating and hopefully you, my faithful readers outside Sweden, will enjoy these entries even if they come in Swedish! According to the rules i do not have to post every day – I can post several photos the same day and then none for some days…

People always have crazy ideas, don’t they? What about this one …
I think I prefer the photography craze…even if I love reading. I wonder if the 21st century might be the second age of photography – today there truly is ”an ocean of images” and with more photographic devices constantly popping up, at least I don’t see an end to this – what do you think?
Slow is the theme for Ailsa this week…I guess the photos could speak for themselves!
His strong spirit and character – to never give up on his dreams
His kindness towards everyone – big or small, human or animal
Friends for ever – helping my children grow
Forever patient…not wanting to sit there too long…but if he felt he had to…
Being beautiful
Always on the move – Leading the way…

One of my favourites where I live – the abandoned silo building. Ugly maybe, but has still got a certain attraction. A home for birds and skaters!

I love seeing things from above, and the first picture is from my neighbourhood, Hovdala. The little toy tractor in the autumn harvest.
Rome and the view of the bridge leading to Castel Angelo.
In an aeroplane the view is of course even more impressive. The Alps make me long for snow this winter.
But, my all time favourite for this theme is of course this photo: https://lagottocattleya.wordpress.com/2013/07/13/weekly-photo-challenge-the-golden-hour/

First of all I would like to thank you, Cee, for being featured last week! I’m honoured!
This week is a bit more grim…for Joints I cannot stop thinking of my visit to Rome and the Crypt of the Capuchins.
My reaction on entering this ossuary, was at first a bit violent…but after walking the thirty metre long corridor with all niches decorated with human bones and skulls, the hanging lamps made of vertebrae and whole skeletons standing watch – I got used to it and could almost admire the fantastic patterns once made by the monks. I read somewhere that the bones of about 4000 monks were used to build this scenery, starting in the 17th century and finished not until the end of the 19th century.
”What you are now, we once were; what we are now, you shall be.” This is the memento mori written down here, in three languages.
As no one was allowed to take photos, I bought some cards and photographed them instead. This is the Crypt of Skulls.

This courtyard is said to be the most beautiful one in Rome. Even the sky above seems to say so. The theme is Converge.
Angular – two roofs and a ceiling for this challenge. From Sweden, Poland and Italy. All of them old, well preserved and very special.
The old monastery church at Varnhem, Sweden
The old Mill, Gdansk
A Roman church – we visited many…
