Thursday Thoughts – Spring Hikes are…

Sheer Happiness!

This hike we do every spring or summer – and it is always a treat. It takes about three, four hours, walking among old and strange trees planted here from all over the world … and it is close to the sea.

This place is home to numerous orchids (a meadow of them in the header) and Pasque flowers – just as beautiful when they are over!

The last flower blooming could also be the last hideaway for a little bug…

This hike is a perfect outing for schoolchildren – but, today we had to step away from the path for several hundreds of kids. Smiling and cheery ones though.

Blindworm or slowworm – I see them quite often. In fact this is a lizard, but legless. This guy was a beauty, about 30 cm long, slim and well fed.

Driving home on old roads to enjoy the flat and open views of the southern part of Skane. A good day we had. And the light lasts far into the night.

Thursday Thoughts – The Best Time of the Year

Thursday again, time flies, and faster in the warmer seasons. There is much to do in my garden, but forest baths are essential. I try to take good care of the best season here up north. Life is short, I try not to waste it – but it is difficult to live in the moment…I wonder how many of us succeed in really doing that.

Spring colours in Skane. So longed for and so needed. But a cold spring and early summer. Everything is late. There are few insects and pollinators as the cold and windy days have taken their toll. Still – I hope you will enjoy a piece of our late spring too!

A forest bath is never wrong. Healing and uplifting…if I could I would fly out over the treetops, savouring everything green. I know you would fly with me.

Thursday Thoughts – Seen in Prague

Some things really caught my eye in Prague, or rather – many things did. It is a beautiful city, just as beautiful as I thought it would be.

And there were Easter celebrations everywhere. Nice people, good food.

I loved all the typical things like the great architecture and the good food, but I also love something unexpected.

Charles Bridge is of course a Must.

And the handsome trams are everywhere.

But I always enjoy the little things just as much.

Many of us do, and that is a good thing.

Thursday Thoughts – Unexpected Views

These two images shows not what I had expected to find in Prague. But I loved both finds – seen on the walk to the famous Karls Bridge.

Beautiful architecture I knew I would find – and in the header is an image more according to my expectations. I love surprises though!

Thursday Thoughts – Prague Cemeteries

We started our first day with some cemeteries… Somehow I love walking there, and whenever I go to a big city, I visit at least one cemetery.

Doors to churches and gates to cemeteries… Old Jewish cemeteries especially, are very beautifully ageing, because they are often left as they are. There are no relatives alive anymore who can tend to them.

Signs of Franz Kafka are everywhere in Prague, but here is his last resting place.

Maybe you like to walk in cemeteries too – the stillness and peaceful surroundings, contemplating life and the beauty of it all.

Wordless Wednesday and Thursday Thoughts

Such is my life right now, that much of it is chaotic. Illness and death, funerals and sorrows. Many tough things to deal with – but this too shall pass. I try to keep blogging, but some days I just don’t manage to do it. I guess many of you have been though such times in life too, but if I could choose, so many things should not happen simultaneously. It drains me, as I am the only person who can and must deal with it and make it work.

So, bear with me, please. I will be on the road to recover next week. Thank you for your patience and I wish you who celebrate it, a warm, Happy, sunny Easter.

The churches are in Karlsborg, Sweden.
